Everything you need
to know about glass.
How it works, what each piece does, and why the material matters for a cleaner, smoother session.
Glass is cleaner.
Full stop.
Plastic, acrylic, and cheap rubber off-gas chemical compounds when heated — directly into your inhale. Borosilicate glass is chemically inert. It doesn't react with heat. Nothing added, nothing altered.
- Zero chemical off-gassing at any temperature
- Non-porous — bacteria and residue can't absorb in
- Preserves the actual flavor of what you're smoking
- Doesn't degrade or discolor with regular cleaning
- Handles ice and warm water without cracking
- Acrylic bongs releasing BPA and styrene when heated
- Cheap rubber grommets that burn and off-gas
- Unknown metal alloys and plating that vaporize
- Soft plastic tubing that degrades over time
- Porous materials that harbor mold between uses
Water Pipes & Bongs
A bong filters smoke through water before it reaches you. Smoke travels down the downstem, bubbles through the base, rises through the neck, and into your lungs. The water cools the smoke significantly and filters out water-soluble particles — smoother, cooler hits with less throat irritation.
Beaker Bong
Wide conical base holds more water for maximum filtration and stability. Extra volume means cooler hits and it's harder to tip over. The most popular everyday driver.
Straight Tube
Single cylinder, no-frills. Faster clearance than a beaker, easier to clean, consistent draw. What most experienced smokers reach for because it just works.
Recycler
Water loops continuously through two chambers — smoke cycles through water multiple times. Zero splashback, smoothest hit possible. FLOW3R's signature piece.
Ice Catchers
Notches inside the neck hold ice above the water chamber. Smoke cools 40–60°F before you inhale — immediately noticeable difference. No extra parts, no maintenance. Drop a few cubes in and go. Use large cube ice for best results; crushed ice melts faster and raises the water level.
Percolators
A percolator breaks smoke into many tiny bubbles — increasing the surface area that contacts water. More contact = more cooling, more filtration, smoother hit. FLOW3R pieces balance filtration without making clearance a workout.
Showerhead
A tube that flares out with multiple slits, spraying smoke in a fan pattern. Strong filtration, moderate drag.
Honeycomb
A flat disc with dozens of tiny holes. Maximum bubbles simultaneously. Excellent filtration with very low drag.
Tree Perc
Multiple arms extending from a central tube, each with slits. Great filtration and impressive aesthetics.
Inline / Matrix
Horizontal tube covered in a grid of holes. Even filtration distribution. Consistently smooth — favored in premium rigs.
Dab Rigs
Dab rigs use a banger or nail heated by a torch rather than a bowl. Smaller chambers preserve terpene flavor. Lower temps (350–500°F) give you better taste and a smoother hit.
Dab Rig
A small rig with a banger heated by a torch. Smaller chamber preserves terpene flavor. Lower temps (350–500°F) = better taste, smoother hit.
Nectar Collector
Vertical dab straw. Heat the tip, touch and inhale. No banger setup needed. The easiest entry point into dabbing.
Quartz Banger
The preferred nail for dab rigs. Flavor-neutral, heats evenly, retains heat well. Fits any 14mm female rig.
How to Clean Your Piece
Clean glass hits better and lasts longer. Resin buildup affects flavor immediately — a two-minute rinse after every session prevents almost all buildup.
Rinse with warm water immediately. This prevents buildup from hardening and keeps your piece fresh with minimal effort.
Add 91%+ isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt to the chamber. Cap the openings, shake for 2–3 minutes, rinse thoroughly. Let dry completely before next use.
Soak in isopropyl for 30–60 minutes, then shake. For tight perc holes, use pipe cleaners or cotton swabs after soaking.
Pull them out and soak separately in a zip bag with isopropyl. Far more effective than cleaning while attached.
Choose your first piece.
Not sure where to start? We've got you.
You smoke flower
Start with a beaker or straight tube. Ice catcher is a bonus. One perc is plenty — get comfortable with the basics first.
You're into dabs
Go smaller — a 6–8" dab rig with a quartz banger. Smaller chamber = better flavor. A nectar collector is the easiest way to start.
You want portability
A bubbler handles flower, fits in a bag, and gives smoother hits than a dry pipe. For dabs on the go, a nectar collector is compact and capable.
